macOS 15 and PIA app

I realize that there may be a workaround for Apple services. However, I have a question. Why and how was the PIA app designed in such a way that this problem exists? I also have other VPN clients that work OK with macOS 15, and the one issue that was identified has already been addressed with an upgrade. I’m just curious to have a deeper knowledge of the problem and why it exists.

Also, why isn’t the PIA software available on the Mac software Store?

Thank you in advance.

FYI, 15.0.1 resolves the security software problem.

Other high-quality VPNs (Mulvad) were experiencing the same difficulty. It only occurs on Macs due to the way Apple constructed their network packet filtering mechanism.

PIA has been working hard to support split tunnel on Mac. It determines the type of VPN I use.

Thank you; I am now upgrading to 15.0.1.

15.0.1 resolved the issue with the VPN in general, or only the split tunnel?

I’m not sure about split tunnel, but I can confirm that iMessage now works on macOS with the latest production version of PIA. I have not verified FaceTime or some of the other stuff, but they appear to be working.

Definitely iMessage, and I can confirm that.

3.6.1 is the most recent PIA, right? Because I upgraded to Sequoia 15.1 and imessage is still not working for me.

It’s not working for me, either.

Did you have to do anything specific to get it to operate after updating? I upgraded yesterday night, and iMessage is still prohibited for me.
