My choice is NordVPN. I’ve tried many over the last 8 years and NordVPN has been the best fit (I use it with an Asus ac86u router that has Asus Merlin firmware). Once it’s on, I don’t lose speed, it’s reliable with zero disconnects, and I paid £60 for a 24-month plan. Highly recommend it.
I prefer AirVPN since they allow port forwarding to download my Linux ISOs.

There are a lot of options mentioned here. I suggest giving a few trials if you can to find out which one fits you best.
Also, keep in mind that while some companies own their hardware, others just rent it in server farms.
