Good luck implementing this outside Italy. Rip AirVPN, however (located in Italy).

They have discontinued operations in Italy but want to continue operating everywhere else.
A few months ago, AirVPN ceased serving Italian customers. I don’t believe they have any servers in Italy, therefore it has no impact on their service to customers outside of Italy.
Wait, so Italy’s trying to force VPNs to block pirated content? That sounds like a nightmare. VPNs are supposed to be about privacy and freedom, not being the internet police! What’s next, them tracking every little thing we do online?
Tbh, I kinda get why they’re doing it. Piracy’s illegal, and VPNs have been used to get around those laws for ages. But yeah, it’s sketchy when the government starts telling VPNs what they can and can’t allow. Feels like a privacy invasion.
But like, how are they even gonna enforce this? VPNs operate globally, not just in Italy. What are they gonna do, ban every VPN that doesn’t comply? Seems impossible to manage. Plus, people will just find workarounds—there’s always a loophole, right?
Trueee, people will find a way. But this could seriously mess with how VPNs work in Italy. I use one for privacy, not piracy, and now they’re gonna start blocking stuff? That’s overreach. Imagine paying for a VPN just to get more restrictions!
