How to block YouTube ads on iPhone…?

As the title suggests, I pay $14 a month for a service and am wondering if there’s a way to use it to block YouTube ads specifically on my iPhone and iPad.

Thanks in advance.

Use the Brave browser for YouTube. It works well for blocking ads.

This :+1: You also get the background play feature for free.

Shh, don’t say it too loud before they catch on and take it down.

It doesn’t block ads anymore. You need to open YouTube in Safari, turn on threat protection, and use YouTube through Safari for ad-free viewing.

@Cal
It still works for me. You need to add EasyList in the Brave browser blocker settings.

Are you using the Brave browser on an iPhone?

@Clarke
Could you show me how to set it up? Thanks :pray:

Note: This is for iPad users.

  1. Open the Brave browser.
  2. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner and select Settings.
  3. Go to Shield & Privacy.
  4. In this section, enable Tracker and Ad Blocker and set it to Aggressive.
  5. Under Content Filtering, add these URLs:

This should help block most ads, including on YouTube.

@Clarke
Thanks a lot!

You can also try Firefox with the uBlock Origin add-on.

Does that work on iPhone?

@Fitz
Yes, Firefox is available on iPhone.

Yes, Firefox is available on iPhone.

It doesn’t support add-ons, though.

Ah, I didn’t know that. That’s disappointing.

I read somewhere that connecting to certain countries, like Albania, can block YouTube ads.

I tried that, but it didn’t work on my iPhone. I connected to Moldova and Mongolia and even changed my location in the YouTube app, but no luck. Am I doing something wrong?
