Download every Linux OpenVPN configuration

Can I only download one server configuration at a time when I wish to download the OpenVPN configurations from the download page? Since I’ll be using the arch GTK app, I’d want to have them all accessible, but I don’t want to hit “download” on each and every one of them. I know it’s feasible since I’ve installed Proton VPN with all the servers on another Arch system, but I can’t recall how I obtained all the OpenVPN configuration files.

You have the option to download a whole nation if you select OpenVPN. It just selects one at random. Opt for COUNTRY CONFIGS.

What happens if I want each country’s configuration? Is the “download all” option missing?

You are not aware that the configurations you are downloading are not so much like encyclopedias as they are like a monthly magazine. Over time, the data is updated. If you download them all, the number of servers you will likely never connect to will increase, and the servers will drift further over time as the data is updated.

That makes sense, all right. I appreciate your explanation.

Oh man, I feel you! Downloading one config at a time is a nightmare. :weary: You can get all of them at once, though. If you’re using ProtonVPN, they offer a zip file with all the OpenVPN configs. Check their support page; I think it’s buried somewhere there.

If you’re using Arch and already have ProtonVPN on another system, you can just copy the config files over from that install. They should be somewhere in /etc/openvpn/ or /etc/protonvpn/. Just scp them over if both machines are networked. :rocket:
