Not that I have noticed.
I should also point out that the slowest internet plan I have had while using Proton was 200 Mbps. I didn’t have issues with that.
Your mileage may vary if you use something like 50 Mbps or 100 Mbps.
I usually stay connected to Proton 24/7.

AdGuard VPN has been the best one for me. And they have their own unique protocol that is extremely fast and obfuscated so much so that websites don’t even detect I have a VPN. I recommend people try it out.

For those interested, how its protocol is different from all the big VPN providers, you can just read this AdGuard VPN Protocol.

Happy 2023!

I disagree. I’ve been having many issues in the last month with it completely crippling my Wi-Fi connectivity. Ended up wiping all my devices of ExpressVPN.

No port-forwarding, so immediately discarded. Besides that, they most likely belong to NordVPN group (Tesonet), which would also put them out. The rest of the criteria would have to be analyzed if they implement port-forwarding some day, but as it is now simply just isn’t recommended for torrenting.

What a bunch of useless advice. I’ve used all of the VPNs that are mentioned here; none of them worked for me.

I disagree with some ‘experts.’ I have used F-Secure for many years, and I find their service excellent and trustworthy. Many ‘experts’ point out one instance involving German officials obtaining logs from a customer, which F-Secure followed up on and had them destroyed. What if this German customer was an arch-villain, suspected of heinous acts? Finland is known to be a trusted partner in privacy. On the other hand, accolades are given to ExpressVPN, yet they are in the U.S. Virgin Islands… a U.S. territory where I am sure that if U.S. officials wanted logs on an average citizen, they would only need to breathe hard on ExpressVPN to obtain them. I would suggest taking ‘expert’ recommendations with a grain of salt. I used ExpressVPN briefly, and my Bluetooth was being constantly hacked.

I’d say be careful with VPN recommendations on Reddit as well. As I’m looking through different threads, many people are using their affiliate links without disclosing them. And in some cases, I’ve even seen multiple different Reddit accounts using the same affiliate link. So people are making it look like one VPN is popular, but really it’s the same person promoting their affiliate links (without disclosing) over and over. So be careful.

Hey reader  you don’t need a VPN. Get a router running OpenWRT (e.g., TP-Link AC1750) and install the Tor client on it. Congrats! Now you’ve got totally FREE and PERMANENT privacy for ALL THE DEVICES using that Tor gateway router WiFi.

P.S: make sure you have at least 250Mbps internet speed for optimal usage :point_left::warning:
