I’m guessing they mean using a VPN located in their home country while working in Thailand.

That way if your work checks your location it shows an IP from your home country.

I’m literally in Thailand right now and was upset I couldn’t use Hulu. I got NordVPN and got my life back

It’s really easy and can be done on most Linux machines. Check out https://www.pivpn.io/

I set mine up on a Raspberry Pi because I wanted to learn about them and they’re compact. You’ll need a fixed IP (I use Dyndns, but there are many free options). You also need to assign a port for your machine in your router.

Look into Pi-hole too. It helps block ads on your network as well!

Don’t bother with PiVPN. Just install Tailscale on your devices and you’re good to go.
