I installed the Proton VPN plugin on my Android browser. When I click links from outside the browser to launch them in the browser, they open before the VPN addon connects. It takes 3 seconds for the extension to connect. Is there a method to ensure data is not delivered before the extension connects?

Have you tried enabling the Kill Switch? It can help block internet traffic until the VPN is connected. More info here: Proton VPN Kill Switch.

I’m specifically talking about the browser extension.

You might want to consider using the full Proton VPN app instead of the extension.
I prefer not to use the full VPN app. As a free user, I can’t access split tunneling, and I only want to use it for the browser.
You should try turning on a kill switch or a similar feature. It would stop all links from opening until the VPN is fully connected, ensuring no data is sent.
The Proton app has that option, but unfortunately, the extension doesn’t. I’m hoping there’s a way for the extension to do that so I don’t have to rely on the full VPN.
