Seeking Advice on Setting Up My Own VPN

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some guidance on building my own VPN. Here’s what I’m working with:

  1. Asus Router
  2. Asustor NAS
  3. VPN Provider with WireGuard Protocol

I have two ISPs:

  • ISP1: For home use
  • ISP2: For mobile (iOS)

When I’m connected to my local network at home (either via Wi-Fi or wired connection), I use ISP1 and have no issues connecting to my VPN provider through WireGuard. However, when I’m away from home and using ISP2 (mobile), I can’t connect to the VPN—it gets blocked.

My goal is to use my NAS and router to create my own VPN that utilizes my ISP1 connection (where the VPN provider works fine). I want to be able to connect to my NAS via the router from outside my local network and set up a server that operates on my VPN provider’s WireGuard profile.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to achieve this? Thanks in advance!
