I reside in a hostel, and the wifi that I use all day is really limited. They keep a watch on everything I do online, and few non-academic websites are authorized. Even Spotify is not permitted. I’ve tried various VPNs (paid and free), and I’m starting to lose hope:( Please assist.
Have you tried using Orbot or Tor? Also, what about ProtonVPN and Windscribe?
In this screenshot, I’m using Orbot, and I’ve tried both ProtonVPN and Windscribe, but I’m unable to connect.
That’s tough. Have you considered trying Mullvad?
I haven’t actually tried that yet. How does it differ from the other VPNs?
Mullvad has several methods for connecting through restricted networks. They’re not vastly different from Windscribe and Proton, but they often connect in places like Mainland China, which could help with IP rotation.
Another option you might try is TunnelBear. It’s user-friendly and has a decent free tier.
Have you looked into ExpressVPN? It’s paid, but known for bypassing restrictions effectively.
Make sure your VPN is set to obfuscate traffic. This can help make it harder for the network to detect that you’re using a VPN at all.
If all else fails, consider using SSH tunneling. It requires a bit of setup, but it can provide a secure way to bypass restrictions.
