To start, I plan to do my own research on this in the coming days, but I wanted to pose the question here to get some input and advice that might help point me in the right direction.
This question has also been posted on another subreddit, but I figured posting it in multiple places increases the chances of getting helpful responses.
As you might expect, I have a home WiFi network with a typical modem/router setup that I use for both web browsing and streaming. If I were only using my computer, I’d probably just download a suitable VPN for that device.
However, I use streaming devices connected to my TV, and here’s where the issue arises: I want to stream shows and movies available in the US, and I’d like to do this through my TV (using a Roku). How can I set up my WiFi, or any connection in my home, so that the connection runs through a VPN?
My explanation might be hard to follow, and I apologize for the poor descriptions and terminology: For example, is there a device that can connect to or through a modem/router that’s capable of routing the network traffic through a VPN? My basic idea is that the device would either run the data through a VPN before it reaches the router and then output the VPN-protected data to the router, or it would take the existing WiFi signal, route it through a VPN, and then broadcast it to the whole house.
Essentially, I want the WiFi signal in my home to already have gone through a VPN. There’s probably a much simpler way to describe this, and I apologize for not being familiar with the correct terminology. I’m increasingly tempted to simply 
my content, but it’s often very convenient to stream.
