Proton ad on windows vpn app?

Did this green icon with % just show up? When I hover it says ‘upgrade to duo’ . Ugh.

This feels so corporate. Proton turning into the VPN version of Spotify—“Upgrade to Duo now or forever hold your peace.” :joy: They better not start showing this on mobile too or I’m out.

I swear, if that green % thing shows up on mobile, I’m throwing hands. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: I love ProtonMail and their other services, but don’t push it, man.

Haha, yeah! I was like, “What fresh nonsense is this?!” :skull: If I wanted upgrade spam, I’d stick with some freemium VPN. Come on, Proton, don’t make me regret choosing you.

Yup, noticed it this morning. Annoying as hell. Like, seriously? I signed up for privacy and now they’re throwing ads in my face? What’s next, targeted pop-ups?

Tbh, I kinda get why they’re pushing Duo. They’re trying to grow their ecosystem, right? But yeah, the random icon isn’t it. They could’ve sent an email instead of sneaking this into the UI. Feels sneaky.

Bruh, feels like a betrayal. I thought Proton was the “no-nonsense” VPN, and now we have these weird icons begging for upgrades. What’s the point of paying if they still hit us with stuff like this?

For real, though, they better not add this everywhere. It’s not even about Duo—it’s just the principle. Proton users signed up to avoid crap like this. :expressionless:

Right? It’s not the biggest deal, but it’s like the little cracks that make you wonder if they’re changing direction. NordVPN started subtle, too. Now they’re everywhere with ads and upsells. Proton, please don’t go there.
