Have you configured split tunneling to utilize include (a list of applications that use VPN) or exclude (a list of apps that don’t)? How did you determine that it isn’t connected?
Except…I didn’t understand why my Homatics VPN wasn’t connected even though it was linked in the Proton app.Nevertheless, I’ve abandoned split tunneling on Proton (excellent VPN, by the way), and I have nine other options available.
Oh man, I feel you. Had the same issue with NordVPN a while back. Thought I was protected but nope, VPN wasn’t doing its thing. Split tunneling can be kinda finicky, especially with TV apps. Sometimes the apps get confused on what should go through the VPN.
Yeah, I had issues with my streaming devices too. I use ExpressVPN, but whenever I enable split tunneling, my device acts like the VPN isn’t even there. I think it has to do with how these boxes route their traffic. Like, if split tunneling is misconfigured even a little, the device doesn’t know what to do. Try excluding fewer apps and see if it works?
Haha, classic tech being annoying, right? I’ve been there, Mel. Split tunneling is super useful but can mess things up. Try removing one app at a time from split tunneling and see if that helps. Sometimes just one app can mess with the entire setup! Oh, and definitely check for firmware updates on the Homatics box. Sometimes a simple update fixes these bugs.
