Help me choose a VPN

Hey everyone my Surfshark VPN subscription ends tomorrow and I don’t plan on renewing it. Can anyone tell me if ProtonVPN or Mullvad is good for torrenting and streaming because I want to get serious about torrenting

Try ProtonVPN

I prefer AirVPN. They offer port forwarding, reasonable prices, and have been reliable for months

I agree. AirVPN has been great for me.

Try both ProtonVPN and AirVPN for a month each to see which one you like better

Private Internet Access might be what you’re looking for. They have port forwarding, unlimited devices, RAM-only servers, 10gbps speeds, and lots of servers. They have proven in court that they keep no logs and have been audited twice

@Cleo
I thought ProtonVPN had port forwarding too?

Yes, both ProtonVPN and AirVPN have port forwarding. They are the recommended options since they meet all the needs.

Oh so you suggest either AirVPN or ProtonVPN

Either one would be a solid choice

I find ProtonVPN doesn’t work well on Nixos :confused:

Nixos?

It’s a Linux distribution

Mullvad doesn’t have port forwarding, which is fine for popular torrents but could be an issue for less common ones. If you want to stream legally and avoid geo-blocks, Mullvad isn’t really set up for that either.

@Patton
Got it, so ProtonVPN then

@Patton
I haven’t had that issue yet but thanks for the heads-up

PIA

What’s the difference between PIA and ProtonVPN? I thought ProtonVPN had port forwarding too

I really like the basic paid plan for ProtonVPN

I have been using AirVPN for a year. Today I renewed for three more years

Most VPNs offer trial plans so you can try a few before deciding
