Create distinct apps that stand out from the crowd

Create distinct apps that stand out from the crowd. While purple is appealing, it’s important to emphasize distinctiveness via color.

Imagine someone doing anything alphabetical, and you have a section of pink apps.

Just a notion, and don’t tell the marketing department. :joy:

Why is this sub defending Proton so aggressively? The icons are quite similar, making it difficult to tell which programs they are. Calendar and Drive form practically a square, VPN is a triangle, and Pass is a diamond.

How is it “your problem” to choose function above aesthetics? I think the previous Mail and VPN symbols were clearer. I loved the padlock mail more.

I have no trouble distinguishing between programs based on their icons, and I’m sure I’m not alone, which is why I mentioned it sounds like a “you” problem.

The lack of functionality and glitches are serious issues, whereas not like the icons is a personal opinion.

We’re all quite impressed. OP was referring to having an icon that communicates purpose rather than a generic form. If you could replace all of the icons on Reddit with circles and squares, it would not be a better design.

No? Read again.

However, it is ultimately a matter of personal choice.

You do not like it.

Where is the true issue?

I agree. The icons for Proton Pass, Calendar, Drive, and VPN are all too identical.

I have to read the text to figure out which one to push.

Yes, the icons are generic and appear identical. To identify one app from another, you must first read the name.

I discussed it to them when I got unlimited and began using more than VPN.

Agree. They appear extremely similar.
