Is the VPN’s stealth protocol capable of stopping these?
Since VPNs are legal, there’s really no reason to hide the fact that you’re using one.
Certain VPNs are ineffective and require considerable strength to get past the internet security barrier. I am Chinese, therefore I know.
Will they search every social media platform for posts made by people in Brazil? And how will they get to that decision? If use a VPN, this might be the only method to enforce it. That is, until VPNs are outlawed.
What exactly does a “Brazil user” mean?
Does the legislation apply to someone who posts concerning Brazil from the USA, or to a Brazilian citizen living in the USA? Even if you can determine that a post discusses Brazil, it doesn’t necessarily mean the author is a Brazilian living in Brazil. The fact that a VPN was utilized from within Brazil is not proven. Does this apply to Americans who travel to Brazil? How would you handle it if it’s an American citizen traveling to Brazil on business and using an official company device that routes all traffic over the uncensored corporate network? We want all traffic interacting with our devices as well as network to be inspected by the firewall and intrusion detection system, which is why my organization and others do not use split tunneling.
Without the subject’s admission, it is extremely, extremely difficult, if not impossible, to implement this legislation.
If VPNs are prohibited, they really shouldn’t prohibit business VPNs. Because many local governments rely on our software, we would definitely think about leaving any country that engages in such behavior.
Indeed, I fail to see how they could enforce it. I find it hard to believe that the MPs there are so dim-witted, but then, consider the rest of the globe.
Surprised? When you take away a platform people rely on, they’ll find ways to get around it. Fining people for using VPNs just makes it worse – it’s like punishing someone for finding a back door after you lock the front.
